ABC Dry Powder Fire Extinguisher
General-purpose extinguisher suited to Class A, B and C risks — the most common choice for offices, shops, societies and factory floors.
12 products in this range
The first line of defence in almost every building. We supply new fire extinguishers in ABC dry powder, carbon dioxide, mechanical foam and water types, in portable and trolley-mounted capacities, along with automatic modular units for unattended areas.
An extinguisher only helps if it matches what is burning. Using the wrong type can be ineffective, and on an electrical fire it can be dangerous. That is why we ask what is in the area before quoting, rather than sending a standard set to every customer.
Portable units cover a defined radius and are mounted where staff can reach them. Trolley-mounted units carry far more agent and suit sheds, yards and loading bays where a portable extinguisher would run out too quickly. Automatic modular units mount on the ceiling and discharge on heat alone — useful above electrical panels, DG sets and other areas where nobody is present to operate anything.
Extinguishers need to be visible, reachable and unobstructed, mounted at a height anyone on site can lift them from, and marked so they can be found in poor visibility. They also need checking: pressure in the green band, hose and horn intact, seal unbroken, and refilling after any discharge, however brief. We can set this up as a scheduled maintenance arrangement so it does not get forgotten.
Our brochure states that the fire extinguishers we supply are new and ISI marked. Marking and certification vary by manufacturer and model, so ask us to confirm the details for a specific product before you place an order.

Questions
A CO₂ extinguisher is normally specified for electrical equipment, because carbon dioxide does not conduct electricity and leaves no residue on the panel afterwards. For unattended panel rooms an automatic modular unit mounted above the panel is also worth considering.
That follows from the floor area, the fire load in it, the layout and how far somebody would have to walk to reach a unit. Tell us the size and type of your premises and we will suggest a quantity and placement rather than guessing at a number.
We supply new fire extinguishers. We also refill and service existing units, including ones bought elsewhere.
Portable units are commonly available in a range of capacities, and trolley-mounted units carry considerably more. Availability varies by type and manufacturer, so ask us for what is current when you enquire.
