Sprinklers act on the fire before anyone reaches it, and only where the heat actually is. We supply pendent, upright and sidewall heads with flexible drop connections, and take on layout, installation and periodic checking.
Everything else waits for a person. A sprinkler does not. Each head holds a glass bulb that bursts at a set temperature, and only the heads over the actual fire operate — which is the point people most often get wrong about sprinklers. A fire in one corner of a warehouse does not soak the whole building; it opens the two or three heads above it, usually while the fire is still small enough to be controlled.
Sprinkler bulbs are colour-coded by their operating temperature, and the rating has to suit the normal conditions of the area. A head rated too low will operate on ordinary summer heat near a roof sheet or a kitchen; one rated too high will wait longer than it should. Selecting the rating for the space is part of laying the system out properly.
Head spacing follows the ceiling type, the height, and what is stored underneath — racking in particular changes the picture, because stock stacked high blocks spray from reaching the lower levels. In false ceilings, flexible drop connectors make it far easier to align each head with the ceiling grid, and they save a great deal of rework when the grid layout changes late in a fit-out.
Sprinklers are normally fed from the same water supply and pump arrangement as the hydrant system, and are installed alongside detection and alarm so that the building is evacuated while the sprinklers hold the fire.

No. Each head operates independently when the heat at that head breaks its glass bulb. Only the heads over the fire discharge — typically two or three. The idea that a whole building gets soaked is a misconception.
Pendent heads hang downward from the pipe and suit false ceilings. Upright heads sit above exposed pipework and throw the spray up into a deflector, which suits warehouses and industrial sheds with no ceiling. The choice follows the ceiling, not preference.
The colour indicates the temperature at which the bulb bursts and the head operates. The rating is chosen to suit normal conditions in that area — a higher rating is used near roof sheets and kitchens, where ordinary heat would otherwise trigger a lower-rated head.
